The benefits of change
The benefits of achieving human potential are twofold.
Individually, a superficial life is replaced with meaningful purpose. There is greater psychological health. Instead of avoidance and disillusionment, there is a way forward. There is “more to life” and “a better way”.
The benefits to society and the wider world brought about by people achieving human potential would be seen as a huge reduction in suffering and global problems. Ultimately, the vast majority of suffering is caused by selfishness. If this could be changed, life as we know it would be transformed. Mediocrity would be replaced with excellence, selfishness with service.
Such a change cannot happen quickly. Changing yourself is far from easy. It requires clear understanding and considerable effort. A significant shift on an individual level can certainly happen within a few years. But, we are aware that it will take hundreds of years of work to achieve results on a much wider scale. Pioneering examples or role models are needed to demonstrate that it can be done. Meanwhile, a world full of "me, me, me" conditioning and greedy behaviour makes life difficult.
This approach is a realistic way forward. There is no quick fix or magic wand. There is no guarantee of success; the psychological minefields are many and avoidance is already entrenched in everyone. Nevertheless,
The Human Potential Trust has the necessary know-how and practical experience to help you change.
We would like to hear from anyone who wants to be a pioneer and help demonstrate that real change can happen.
